Irritation of the sciatic nerve

Injury or pressure to the sciatic nerve can cause tingling or numbness in the leg, foot and back of the thigh. In severe cases it can also cause muscle weakness.

Osteopathy can help in easing nerve pressure, promoting movement and reducing the risk of further injury after initial treatment.

Hip muscle spasm and nerve tightness

Massage and other muscle release techniques can ease pressure on the nerve where it's cause by hip muscle spasm or tightness to the posterior hip muscles

Disc injuries

When disc injuries to the lower back (lumbar spine) result in sciatica, most will respond to gentle spinal movement. This will aid any acute lower back pain as a result of the injury.
